Batumi World Palace Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Batumi World Palace, I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone (sounds a bit grandiose, right?). But this four-star place on Melashvili Street actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this unexpectedly elegant feel without being stuffy, and you know what struck me most? The staff genuinely seemed happy to be there, which – let’s face it – makes all the difference when you’re dealing with travel fatigue.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience real Batumi without being stuck in the ultra-touristy bubble near the boulevard. Melashvili Street puts you close enough to walk to the old town (maybe 10 minutes at a leisurely pace), but you’re also near where locals actually hang out. There’s this little bakery around the corner that I stumbled upon during my morning walks – the kind of place you’d never find if you were staying in one of those massive resort complexes by the beach. The rooms themselves are well-appointed without trying too hard, if that makes sense. Mine faced the courtyard, which meant blessed quiet at night, though I heard from other guests that the street-facing rooms can pick up some traffic noise during busy hours. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in this part of the world), and the bathrooms have proper water pressure – small victories that seasoned travelers will appreciate.

What really sets this place apart though is how it balances being polished with staying authentic. The restaurant serves both Georgian classics and international options, but honestly, skip the international stuff and go for their khachapuri – it’s legit. I mean, you’re in Georgia, right? The breakfast spread is solid without being overwhelming, and they actually have decent coffee, which… well, let’s just say that’s not always guaranteed in smaller Georgian hotels. The 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s the kind of place that gets the fundamentals right without any major flaws dragging it down. Sure, it’s not going to blow your mind with cutting-edge amenities, but sometimes you just want a place that works well, feels comfortable, and doesn’t leave you with any nasty surprises on checkout. Plus, the value proposition is strong – you’re getting four-star quality without the four-star attitude, which in Batumi’s increasingly crowded hotel scene, is actually refreshing.

We really enjoyed our stay. The location was great. The hotel was really nice. Our rooms were spacious and clean. Kakha and Liza provided us with the best customer. They got flowers and a complimentary bottle of wine for my mom’s birthday prior to our arrival. We really appreciate everything that they did for us! We would definitely come back in the future.

  • Excellent Location and clean, airy rooms – Shota from Georgia – December 9, 2023 (9/10)

Excellent location, very big and clean room. Good WiFi. Friendly Staff. A bit strange, but very good breakfast. By strange I mean that it is not an open buffet, you have to order and wait a little bit. But food is good and it's plenty

What could be improved: Again, there is a strange approach for breakfast, but food is good. On the first day I arrived strictly at breakfast starting time but they were not ready. I ended up leaving without it, but next days all went smoothly.
    Shower handle was positioned uncomfortably.
