I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Batumi West Hotel on Dumbadze Street, I wasn’t expecting much from the understated exterior. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t need to shout about it from the street. This four-star spot turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you want to keep it a secret (though obviously I’m not doing a great job of that here).

The thing about staying in this part of Batumi is that you’re close enough to everything that matters without being right in the thick of the tourist chaos down by the boulevard. I mean, you can still hear the city humming – especially during summer evenings when everyone’s out and about – but it’s more of a gentle backdrop than the full-on sensory overload you get closer to the beach. The staff actually seemed to remember my name after the first day, which doesn’t happen often at hotels this size. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving after 3 PM because they seemed pretty swamped when I showed up early once.

What really got me was the attention to detail throughout the place. The rooms have this clean, modern feel without being sterile – you know how some hotels go so minimal that you feel like you’re sleeping in a medical facility? Not here. The beds are genuinely comfortable (I’m picky about this), and the bathroom setup is well thought out with decent water pressure, which honestly can be hit or miss in this part of Georgia. The air conditioning works properly too, which you’ll definitely appreciate if you’re visiting during those sweltering July and August weeks when Batumi gets properly hot. I did notice some street noise in the morning – nothing terrible, just the usual sounds of a city waking up – but the windows do a decent job keeping most of it out. The Wi-Fi was reliable throughout my stay, which seems like a given but you’d be surprised how many places still struggle with this. One thing that stood out was how the housekeeping staff managed to clean the room thoroughly without that overwhelming chemical smell that some hotels seem to think equals cleanliness. There’s covered parking available, which is actually a bigger deal than you might think since finding a decent parking spot in central Batumi can be a proper headache, especially during the busy season when half of Georgia seems to descend on the coast.

  The location of the hotel is central right on the beach. A minute's walk from Europa Square. The hotel and room were clean to a high standard with a good smell. I booked a night and ended up staying more. The employees are really nice and help with everything you need. I will go back there again

  This was a perfect place for my needs. I was in Batumi for a conference, so being close to the University was important. It right by Medea Square, with all its attractions and the walkway to the beach is right outside the front door. The staff was very friendly and helpful. All around, a great place for an adventure in Batumi.
