Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Asmati Apartment 2, I wasn’t expecting much from a three-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in the most unassuming packages, and this little gem on Farnavaz Mefe Street absolutely knocked my socks off.

The location is actually brilliant if you know Batumi at all. You’re tucked away on this quiet residential street that feels authentically Georgian – none of that touristy hustle you get closer to the Boulevard – but you can still walk to the main attractions without breaking a sweat. I mean, the beach is maybe fifteen minutes on foot, and there’s this fantastic khachapuri place just around the corner that locals actually go to (you’ll know it by the smell of fresh bread that hits you every morning around 8 AM). The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel, which I actually preferred. Everything’s spotless – and I mean everything – with these lovely traditional touches mixed in with modern conveniences that actually work. The kitchen was fully equipped, which saved me a fortune since eating out every meal in Batumi can add up fast, and honestly, picking up fresh produce from the local market became one of my favorite daily rituals.

What really impressed me was the attention to detail. The owner clearly gets what travelers need – proper Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, blackout curtains (trust me, you’ll appreciate these during Batumi’s bright summer evenings), and a shower with actual water pressure. The bed was surprisingly comfortable too, which matters more than people realize when you’re exploring the city all day. I also loved that it stayed cool naturally, even during the hottest part of July – something about the building’s orientation and these thick walls that you just don’t get in newer constructions. The neighborhood comes alive in the evenings with families taking walks and kids playing in the courtyards, giving you this authentic slice of local life that you’d never experience staying in one of those big chain hotels near the casino district. Parking was never an issue either, which anyone who’s driven in Batumi will tell you is basically a miracle. I’d definitely stay here again – it’s one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special that hasn’t been completely overrun by tourists yet.
