The kitchens are properly equipped (I actually cooked breakfast a few mornings, which saved me a fortune), and the Wi-Fi is solid enough that I could work from there without wanting to throw my laptop out the window. What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night – Sherif Khimshiashvili isn’t one of those main drags that never sleeps, so you can actually rest properly. The building has this slightly Soviet-era architecture that might not photograph amazingly for Instagram, but there’s something charming about it once you settle in.

Here’s the thing that really won me over though – the staff actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about good khachapuri that wasn’t tourist-priced, they sent me to this tiny place about three blocks away that I never would have found otherwise. And honestly, for a three-star place, the cleanliness standards are more like what you’d expect from somewhere charging twice as much. The shower pressure is decent (always a gamble in this part of town), and the beds are firm enough that my back didn’t hate me after a week there. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving, but most people exploring Batumi don’t really need a car anyway. The whole experience just felt… practical, I guess? Like they understand that travelers want a comfortable base without unnecessary frills they’ll never use. That 9.1 rating makes complete sense once you spend a few days there.
