I’ll be honest, when I first pulled up to Alliance Palace By Marriott on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the street itself is a bit tucked away from the main tourist chaos, which actually turned out to be perfect. This five-star property sits in one of those sweet spots in Batumi where you’re close enough to everything but not drowning in the boulevard crowds that can get pretty intense during summer evenings.

The lobby hits you with that classic Marriott polish, but there’s something distinctly Georgian about the whole vibe – maybe it’s the way the staff genuinely seems happy to see you, or how they’ll actually spend time explaining the best routes to the beach without making you feel rushed. My room on the seventh floor had this view that stretched toward the Black Sea, and you know what? On clear mornings you can actually see the mountains behind the city, which nobody really tells you about Batumi. The rooms themselves are spacious by European standards – I mean, you can actually open your suitcase without having to climb over it to get to the bathroom. The air conditioning works properly too, which might sound basic but trust me, during those humid August days when the city feels like a sauna, you’ll appreciate it.

What really got me was the breakfast situation – they’ve got this spread that covers everything from traditional khachapuri (the Georgian cheese bread that’ll ruin your diet plans) to perfectly decent international options. The coffee’s actually good, not that watered-down hotel stuff you sometimes get. Location-wise, you’re about a ten-minute walk to the main Batumi Boulevard, and here’s a local tip: if you head toward the port area in the early evening, you’ll catch some of the best sunset views without fighting for space with tour groups. The hotel’s taxi service is reliable, but honestly, most of central Batumi is walkable if you don’t mind the occasional cobblestone adventure. Parking can be a bit tight during peak season, but the valet guys seem to work magic fitting cars into impossible spaces. I’d say this place works especially well if you want that international hotel reliability but with enough Georgian character that you remember you’re somewhere special – just don’t expect it to be the cheapest option in town, though for what you get, it feels fair enough.

  Потрясающий вид из окна, балкон, приятные апарты. Очень чисто. Есть холодильник и телевизор (с доступом в YouTube).

  Близко к морю, в номере есть все необходимое (посуда, чайник, плита и тд). Номер очень светлый, потрясающий вид на с 23 этажа. 6 работающих лифтов.
  
  What could be improved: Очень сильно пахнет канализацией в ванной комнате, причем мы жили в двух номерах на разных этажах, видимо проблема во всем здании. С открытым окном спать не получится, сильный шум с улицы. Нет бесплатной парковки.
