You know what caught me off guard about Panorama BatumGora? The name actually delivers on its promise – and honestly, that’s rarer than you’d think with hotels. Perched up on Shervashidze Ascent, this three-star place gives you these sweeping views over Batumi that’ll have you lingering on your balcony way longer than planned. I mean, sure, it’s a bit of a climb to get there (the ascent part isn’t just for show), but that’s exactly why the views are so spectacular and why you’re not dealing with the street noise that plagues the beachfront hotels.

The thing about staying here is that you’re positioned perfectly between Batumi’s old and new personalities. You’re close enough to walk down to the boulevard and all that glitzy casino action, but when you want to escape the crowds, you’ve got these quieter residential streets right around you where actual locals live their lives. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable – nothing fancy, but everything works, which is more than I can say for some of the flashier places I’ve stayed in Georgia. What really impressed me was how well-maintained everything felt despite being a smaller property. The staff actually remembers your name after a day or two, which creates this nice personal touch that gets lost in the bigger resort-style places down by the water.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before my first visit – the uphill location is both the hotel’s biggest selling point and its one minor drawback. Those panoramic views (especially at sunset, trust me on this) are absolutely worth it, but if you’re planning to walk up and down to the beach multiple times a day, your legs will definitely feel it. The taxi situation is pretty easy though, and honestly, after a few days you start to appreciate having that buffer zone from the sometimes overwhelming energy of central Batumi. Plus, there’s something quite peaceful about falling asleep to the distant sound of the city rather than being right in the middle of all the late-night revelry. The breakfast situation is solid too – nothing elaborate, but good Georgian bread and coffee to fuel your day. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if you’re the type of traveler who values a good view and a bit of local atmosphere over being able to stumble directly onto the beach.

The owner is exceptionally helpful and goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels comfortable during their stay. It’s clear that he genuinely cares about making the experience enjoyable for everyone.

  We had the privileg to be the first guests at this wonderful house. Everything was perfekt! The view is sensationell, the house is perfectly equiped.Ana who welcomed us, speaks perfect english and was extremly friendly and helpful. We get a bottle of wine and fresh fruits as a present and the housekeeping staff was very helpful, too. We will stay here again next year!
