You know what really surprised me about Marvella Orbi City 27-39th floor? That elevator journey. I mean, when they mention 27th-39th floors, they absolutely mean it – you’re actually living among the clouds above Batumi. The entire building is this enormous residential complex, and honestly, the first time I stepped into that lobby, I wasn’t certain I was in the right place. It feels more like entering someone’s apartment building than checking into a hotel, but that’s genuinely part of its appeal.

Once you reach those heights though – incredible. This three-star place performs way above its weight class. The vistas from these floors are absolutely stunning, especially if you secure a room facing the Black Sea. I spent far too much time just standing at the window watching the ferris wheel at Boulevard Park rotate below and the cargo ships drift along the horizon. The rooms themselves are surprisingly roomy, more like furnished apartments really, with proper kitchenettes that actually function (I brewed coffee every morning and it didn’t taste like burnt plastic, which is definitely saying something). The bathrooms are modern and spotless, though the shower pressure can be somewhat unpredictable – seems to depend on which floor you’re on and time of day.

Location-wise, you’re right in the heart of everything on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street, which sounds daunting but it’s actually quite easy to navigate once you get your bearings. You can walk to the old town in about fifteen minutes, and there’s this charming Georgian bakery just two blocks away that makes these amazing khachapuri – the owner doesn’t speak much English but he’ll guide you toward the best ones. The beach is close enough that you can hear the waves on quiet nights, but you’re distant enough from the main boulevard that you won’t get the party noise until 3 AM (well, mostly). Parking can be challenging if you’ve got a rental car – the building has spots but they fill up quickly during summer season. The staff is truly helpful, though sometimes there’s a language barrier that requires some creative gesturing. Check-in was seamless, and they actually remembered my name by day two, which was a thoughtful touch. I’d certainly stay here again, especially for the price point – you’re getting those million-dollar views without the million-dollar bill.
