The building sits tucked away on this quiet second lane – you know how Georgian addresses can be a bit confusing at first – but once you find it, you realize the slightly hidden location is actually perfect. You’re close enough to hear the gentle hum of the city, but far enough from the main tourist strips that you can actually sleep without earplugs.

The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that I really appreciated. I mean, it’s not trying to be some fancy boutique hotel with marble everything, but the owners clearly put thought into making guests feel at home. The kitchen was surprisingly well-equipped – I actually ended up cooking a few meals there using ingredients from the local market just down the street. There’s something about staying in an apartment-style place that lets you experience Batumi more like a temporary resident than a tourist. The windows face toward the quieter side of the neighborhood, so mornings felt peaceful rather than chaotic, which is saying something in a city that can get pretty lively. What really struck me was how the hosts seemed to genuinely care about the small details. Fresh linens that actually smelled clean, decent water pressure in the shower (trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re exploring Georgian coastal humidity), and they even left some local recommendations that went beyond the usual tourist traps.

The location grows on you too – Marukhi Street connects you to the heart of Batumi without dumping you right into the crowds. You can walk to the boulevard and beach in about ten minutes, but you can also discover these little neighborhood cafes and family-run shops that most visitors never notice. I found this incredible khachapuri place just two streets over that became my breakfast spot for the entire stay. The whole area has this authentic residential feel where you’ll see locals going about their daily routines, kids playing in small courtyards, and elderly neighbors chatting on benches. It’s the kind of setting where you start to understand how people actually live in Batumi, beyond the casino lights and tourist restaurants. For the price point, Iren Apartment delivers way more character and comfort than those sterile hotel chains, plus that 9.3 rating makes perfect sense once you experience the genuine hospitality and attention to detail firsthand.

  The location is close to the city centre and short ride from the airport. It’s clean and the host was very helpful.
  
  What could be improved: The address provided on booking.com isn’t correct. The location on the map is correct. If you book a taxi use coordinates (41.64198° N, 41.64790° E) rather than the address.

  Very kind and helpful owners, no problem with hot water which is being heated locally, traditional gas stove in mini-kitchen works well. Good WiFi Internet, about 30 Mbit/s, quite stable except of rare problems with city electricity.
  
  What could be improved: The only possible problem, not every room is equipped with air conditioning, which would help during very hot season (not at my time here).
