I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Hotel Wave on Aeroportis Gzatkecili, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this spot in Batumi. The street’s a bit industrial-looking at first glance, but you know what? Sometimes the best places are hiding in plain sight. This four-star property actually surprised me in the best way possible.

The thing about this hotel is that it gets the fundamentals really right without trying to be something it’s not. The rooms are genuinely comfortable – I mean, the beds are solid, the air conditioning works (crucial during Batumi’s humid summers), and the bathrooms are modern without being flashy. What I really appreciated was the attention to soundproofing. You’re close enough to the action that you can easily get to the Boulevard or the Old Town, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night. The staff… well, they’re the kind of people who remember your name after the first day and can tell you which marshrutka to take to get to the cable car without you having to ask twice.

Here’s what really sold me on this place though – the location is actually pretty smart once you figure it out. Sure, you’re not right on the waterfront, but that means you’re paying reasonable rates for genuinely good quality. It’s maybe a 15-minute walk to Piazza Batumi if you want to hit the restaurants and bars, and honestly, that walk takes you through some interesting neighborhoods where you see how locals actually live. The hotel runs a decent breakfast (nothing fancy, but proper Georgian cheese and fresh bread), and there’s reliable parking if you’ve rented a car to explore the region. I stayed here during the shoulder season in late September, and while it wasn’t packed, the service never felt like they were just going through the motions. Sometimes you find these places that just work – they’re not trying to be the fanciest option in town, but everything functions smoothly, the price makes sense, and you leave feeling like you got good value.   The only thing worth mentioning was the light switch next to the bad.
  
  What could be improved: The rooms are next to noisy street. The toilet in our first room didn't work and the toilet seat was broken – we got another room. In the first room the smell of chlorine was intense which for some people can be quite disturbing. Swimming pool was closed despite the information on the site. The pictures of the room are not reflecting it's current state. The water stream was weak when you tried to use hot water. The shower was broken.

  Очень качественный сытный завтрак..желательно побольше свежих овощей и фруктов. Персонал очень дружелюбный и отзывчивый..на все наши пожелания отнеслись с пониманием и помогали нам в решении многих вопросов
  
  What could be improved: Единственное что нас омрачало то что не работал камин..было немного сыровато в номере ( в дни нашего пребывания в отеле в Батуми шли холодные дожди со снегом. И ещё один нюанс..в ванной нет поддона или хотя бы бортик чтобы вода не заливали весь пол и не выливалась до комнаты..и желательно чтобы были шторки в ванной.
