Hotel Buta Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Hotel Buta? I was expecting just another mid-range place in Batumi, but this four-star spot on Markoz Achareli actually feels like someone put real thought into it. The location is honestly perfect – you’re tucked away on this quiet residential street just three blocks from the main boulevard, so you get none of the casino noise that plagues so many hotels here, but you can still walk to everything that matters in about five minutes.

The building itself has this understated elegance that I really appreciated. I mean, Batumi can be pretty over-the-top with all the modern glass towers and flashy stuff, but Hotel Buta feels more… I don’t know, sophisticated? The lobby has these gorgeous Georgian textiles mixed with contemporary furniture, and there’s this subtle coffee aroma that hits you when you walk in (they’ve got a little espresso setup that actually serves decent Georgian coffee, not the usual instant stuff). My room was on the fourth floor facing the courtyard, which turned out to be a blessing because you get these glimpses of the Black Sea between the buildings, plus it’s incredibly quiet at night. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious – and trust me, that matters in Batumi where some places seem to think a shower stall the size of a phone booth is acceptable.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how the staff seemed to actually know the city. The guy at reception (I think his name was Giorgi?) gave me directions to this amazing khachapuri place on Gogebashvili that I never would have found otherwise, and when I mentioned I wanted to avoid the touristy beach areas, he pointed me toward the quieter stretch near the port where locals actually swim. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest hotel in town, but everything just works really well. Parking was easy (there’s a small lot behind the building), WiFi was solid throughout, and honestly, the beds were some of the most comfortable I’ve had in Georgia. If you’re planning to visit during summer, definitely book early because this seems to be one of those places that locals recommend to their friends visiting from Tbilisi. It’s got that sweet spot thing going on where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without paying resort prices.

  If you are looking for a place to stay with your family, this is great. Do not rely on wifi. If you are Russian you will enjoy hearing Sigma Boy play at least 2 time a day. Despite the families with their kids celebrating birthdays, it has something cosy. Especially in the evening its nice and calm. The kitchen is also great! Kind people. Great food. Cheap(ish). Most of Georgian dishes are prepared here, which saves travel on expensive restaurants.
  
  What could be improved: The WiFi was atrocious. Forget streaming netflix or watching IG reels.

  Staying at this hotel was a great experience! 😃 We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and there was a foam party by the pool which was so much fun!! There were mainly families staying at this hotel, and the vibe was really good. The staff are very friendly too and even though they don't speak any English we managed to communicate with them with the help of the translator app. 👍
  
  Our room was clean and spacious with two beds, our own bathroom and a very well-working aircon! 👌 We were on the second floor and there was also a little terrace with pool view in front of our room. Additionally, there's a cafe/restaurant on the property which serves food until 9pm. Prices are good.
  
  The hotel is located in the North of Batumi. There's a beach in walking distance as well as some shops but be aware that there are not many restaurants or things to do in the surroundings. However, it's a good base if you're planning to visit the Botanical Garden which is just a short bus ride (on the line 10) away.

  Большой чистый бассейн, бассейну вообще 100 баллов. Чистят регулярно), кондиционеры в каждой комнате, кухня, стиральная машина.
  Вообще вся территория очень ухоженная, чистая, вкусно кормят) Ж/д переезд особо спать не мешал.
  Единственный недостаток – оооочень скрипучая кровать двуспальная, из-за этого было сложно выспаться 🙈

  It is a calm and good environment to relax. But there is little access to different restaurants. But overall it was good.

  This hotel is located on Railway line huge noice and distrubing all the time. Curtian are not proper so lights enter the room early morning.
  
  Also locks were not properly lock and some doors without lock….

  Me and my family have spent one unpredictable night at this hotel❣️ They cleaned the pool at least once a day, had well equipped playground for kids. I also liked service, staff, food and how clean and neat everything was.
