Guesthouse in Batumi 97 Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Guesthouse in Batumi 97 on Melikishvili Street, you immediately get that “local gem” feeling — it’s tucked into a residential area that feels authentically Georgian rather than touristy. The building itself has this understated charm that doesn’t scream for attention, which I actually appreciate. You know what struck me first? The fact that there’s dedicated parking right on site, which honestly is a game-changer in Batumi where finding a spot can be challenging. The location truly captures the essence of what makes this city special for discerning travelers.

The Neighborhood Advantage

Here’s the thing about this location — it’s positioned perfectly between the old town character and modern Batumi convenience. Melikishvili Street runs through one of those neighborhoods where you’ll see locals going about their daily lives, small family-run shops, and the kind of authentic Georgian atmosphere that many hotels closer to the waterfront miss entirely. You’re still close enough to walk to the main attractions, but you get to experience how the city actually feels when you’re not surrounded by other tourists. This balance is what makes the guesthouse particularly appealing to visitors seeking genuine cultural immersion.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in was surprisingly spacious for what you’d expect from a guesthouse — this four-star property really delivers on comfort without trying to be overly fancy. The furnishings feel thoughtfully chosen rather than just functional, and there’s this attention to cleanliness that you notice immediately. What I loved most was how quiet everything was at night, despite being in the city center. The windows are well-insulated, and after walking around Batumi all day, that peaceful sleep was exactly what I needed. Every detail contributes to an exceptional overnight experience.

Practical Perks

Let’s talk about why this place actually works for travelers — the free parking situation is huge, especially if you’re exploring the Georgian coast by car. The staff genuinely seems to care about helping guests figure out the city, and they’re not just reciting tourist brochure recommendations. I got some great local restaurant suggestions that I never would have found otherwise. The whole operation feels personal in a way that larger hotels just can’t match. These practical advantages combine with genuine hospitality to create memorable stays.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.1 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — you feel it when you’re there. Couples especially seem to connect with this place, probably because it strikes that perfect balance between romantic atmosphere and practical comfort. It’s the kind of spot where you can have a genuine Batumi experience without sacrificing the amenities that make travel comfortable. The guesthouse has become one of those places worth recommending to friends, which speaks volumes about its quality and character.

Early hotels booking in Batumi requires advance planning during peak summer seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s legendary beaches, modern casinos, and Georgian cultural attractions.

    What could be improved: Сирість

The host is so warm and helpful, I literally loved my stay. It was so much better than so many 5 stars available there. Facilities are basic like a dorm, but it's comfortable, people are warm and I had a Cozy there.

  • Exceptional – Cassie from United States – July 24, 2025 (10/10)

Very green common space! Shared kitchen and washing machine, which we were able to use for free. The strings to dry clothes were also available for us to use. The room was good and we had a fan to help with the summer heat 🙂 The host was very friendly and nice!

  • Wonderful experience – Mr from United States – May 6, 2025 (10/10)

This guest house is about 10 minutes walk from the beach. I minute drive to the black sea beach. lots of inexpensive supermarkets within 100 meters of this place. Misha and his family are very kind and classy. The rooms are extremely clean, with no cockroaches and NO bed bugs. the yard is wonderful . The most important aspect of this guest house is the kindess and class of Misha who is the only one who speaks English in the family but he is at hand most of the time to help, if you need him. Lastly, the kitchen is fully equipped, the bathroom is very modern and you can use the washing machine for free )). I will be back to stay at theis wonderful guest house if i visit Batumi again. Misha and his wonderful family are the kindest , classiest family i have ever met in this world and i have travled to over 30 countries so far…..

What could be improved: When you stay at the room near the front Entrance , ask Misha to turn on the Batumi 2 wifi box and you will get a very strong signal.

What could be improved: The kitchen was a little dirty but it's fine
