The apartment itself is spacious – I mean, actually spacious, not just “European spacious” – and there’s something refreshing about having a proper kitchen and living area when you’re traveling. You can actually spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase for days. The location on Kobaladze puts you in this interesting sweet spot where you’re close enough to Batumi’s main action but tucked away from the tourist chaos that can get pretty intense during summer months. I found myself walking to the Boulevard in about ten minutes, which is perfect for those evening strolls along the Black Sea, but when you want to escape back to your place, you’re not dealing with street noise from the main drags.

The building itself has that slightly Soviet-era feel that you either love or find a bit austere, but honestly, it grows on you. There’s something solid and unpretentious about it that I appreciated after staying in some overly designed places elsewhere. The apartment gets great natural light – probably because of that 11th-floor advantage – and the morning coffee ritual feels pretty special when you’re looking out over the city waking up. I should mention that the area around Kobaladze Street has some genuinely good local spots that you won’t find in guidebooks. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that does incredible khachapuri, and the neighborhood market is where actual residents shop, not just tourists buying souvenirs. What impressed me most, though, was how the place manages to feel like a temporary home rather than just a place to crash between sightseeing. You can tell someone put thought into the details – good water pressure, reliable wifi, comfortable beds that don’t feel like they came from a hotel supply catalog. It’s the kind of spot where you might find yourself staying in for a lazy morning instead of rushing out to tick boxes on your itinerary.
