I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Cottage “Sunset”, I was expecting something quaint but maybe a bit dated. You know how these places with “cottage” in the name can go either way? Well, this four-star gem in Batumi completely surprised me. It’s tucked away on Sakhalvasho street, which is actually perfect because you’re close enough to everything but far enough from the main tourist chaos along the boulevard.

The first thing that hits you is how genuinely peaceful it feels here. I mean, Batumi can get pretty intense with all the nightlife and casino action, but this spot has this amazing ability to feel like a quiet retreat while still being walkable to the good stuff. The sunset views (hence the name, obviously) are legitimately spectacular – I’m talking about those Georgia sunsets over the Black Sea that make you stop whatever you’re doing and just stare. The rooms are thoughtfully designed too, not just thrown together like some places. Actually, the whole property feels like someone who really understands hospitality put thought into every detail. The Wi-Fi actually works well, which sounds silly to mention but you’d be surprised how many places in this area still struggle with that.

What really won me over though was the staff – they’re the kind of people who remember your name and actually seem to care about whether you’re enjoying Batumi. They gave me solid recommendations for the best khachapuri spots (skip the touristy places near the Alphabetic Tower, trust me) and helped me figure out the local marshrutka system when I wanted to explore outside the city center. The breakfast spread is genuinely good too, with proper Georgian cheese and fresh bread, not just the standard hotel continental stuff. I stayed here during shoulder season in late spring, and honestly, the pace was perfect – busy enough that there was energy but not so crowded that you felt like you were fighting for space. The location makes it easy to walk to Batumi Boulevard when you want the full seaside experience, but you can also easily explore the more authentic neighborhoods where locals actually hang out. If you’re planning to visit during summer, definitely book ahead because places like this – the ones that actually get it right – fill up fast when the weather’s perfect for beach days.

  Дом со всеми удобствами, красивый вид на город Батуми. Разрешено размещение с животными. Мы были с крупной собакой. Приятный дворик, крытый навес со столом, где можно в тени с удовольствием провести время
  
  What could be improved: Без машины очень сложно доехать до дома, он находится высоко в горах. Но Можно договориться по поводу трансфера с хозяином. Также ходит маршрутка

  Добраться самому может быть сложно, лучше договориться о транспорте с хозяином. Хотя с некоторыми трудностями удалось приехать и уехать даже на такси.

  Quiet, beautiful place.
  Views are amazing, especially when the weather is good.
  The cottage is warm and cozy, everything is new and of good quality. Kitchen is well equipped, there is even a small coffemaker.
  Dogs are allowed without extra charges.
  There's a place for a barbecue -with a water tap and gas tank, which is very convenient.
  When it was raining, we enjoyed watching TV as a TVset is also very good)
  Regular price is quite high but we saw that it is worth every lari – more comfortable than any hotel we saw in Ajara.
  Hosts are welcoming.

  What could be improved: Not a drawback, but would be good to know – the stairs inside are very steep, keep it in mind if you travel with kids or small dogs.
  The territory around the yard may be quite muddy, especially in a rainy weather. But the cottage yard is clean and nice.
  It was not easy to find the exact location of the cottage – I would advise to ask the host meet you in Makhinjauri and follow to the cottage.
