So I stumbled across Awesome View Apartments on Sherif Khimshiashvili Street during my last trip to Batumi, and honestly, it turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises you don’t expect from a three-star place. The building itself is tucked into this quiet residential area – you know, the kind where you hear Georgian families chatting on their balconies in the evening rather than the constant hum of tourist crowds. What caught me off guard was how the name isn’t just marketing fluff – you actually do get these sweeping views of the Black Sea from most of the apartments, especially if you snag one of the higher floors.

The apartments themselves feel more like staying in a friend’s well-kept place than a typical hotel room. I mean, there’s a proper kitchen with everything you need (I actually cooked dinner a couple nights using ingredients from the local bazaar down the hill), and the living spaces are generous enough that you’re not tripping over your luggage every five minutes. The owner clearly put thought into the little details – decent water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually work, and WiFi that doesn’t cut out every time someone in the building makes coffee. The furniture is simple but comfortable, nothing fancy, but it’s clean and functional in that understated Georgian way.

Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk to Batumi Boulevard and the main tourist strip, which I found perfect – close enough to easily hit the restaurants and nightlife, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the chaos of drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM. There’s this little khachapuri spot literally two blocks away that locals frequent (no English menu, but the cheese bread is incredible), and the marshrutka stop is right there if you want to explore beyond the city center. Parking can be a bit tricky during summer months – the street gets pretty packed – but the owner helped me figure out a spot nearby. One small thing that bugged me was the elevator, which is one of those old Soviet-era contraptions that sounds like it’s having an existential crisis every time you use it, but hey, it works. Overall, for the price point and the genuine hospitality, this place delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not.

  What could be improved: 6 elevators for what looks like 2000 rooms? The architect deserves an award as much as the slow and overwhelmed receptionists. If you want to skip your stair master sessions this accommodation is for you

  What could be improved: This room i booked for 4 person, but they give only 3 pillow! I called owner but he didnt answer! The air conditioner didnt work! And water was cold! It was very dirty as well! Do NOT book here.
